JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE

Plans, schedules and conducts performance based audits, surveillances and source verifications of suppliers and generates corresponding reports in accordance with applicable EN-QV Procedures.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Evaluates supplier quality assurance programs for supply of safety related and commercial grade items/components.

Supports site procurement organizations in a wide range of contract, engineering and inspection areas related to supplier issues.

Maintains the qualified supplier list for assigned suppliers.

Resolves supplier nonconformance issues to support site corrective actions.

Maintains cognizance of industry issues and participates on industry teams to resolve issues as appropriate. Interfaces with other utilities to perform NUPIC industry audits.

Supports the Supervisor in performing reviews of long term fabrication activities at suppliers' shops (including nuclear fuel, steam generator replacements, reactor vessel heads, dry storage casks, etc.) and communicates with plant project management to resolve project related issues.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Minimum education required of the position

B.S. Degree in Engineering or technical field, or equivalent work experience.

Minimum experience required of the position

At least 6 years of nuclear power plant experience in the field of quality assurance or experience in plant operations. Desired: Extensive knowledge of nuclear industry regulations and experience.

Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position

Excellent communication skills. Knowledge of nuclear and other regulatory quality/QAPM requirements. Extensive out of town travel requires.

Any certificates, licenses, etc. required for the position

For Source inspections, verifications or surveillances, must meet appropriate certifications per ANSI / ASME N45.2.23 or ANSI N45.2.6. Desired: Lead Auditor Certification (Able to qualify as a Lead Auditor within 1 year).
