Job Summary/Purpose

  • The Manager, Diversity & Workforce Development develops, implements, and monitors programs to attract, hire and retain a diverse workforce that mirrors the communities Entergy serves and the available labor market and works to implement strategies to develop a pipeline of diverse talent for the future. Reporting to the Human Resource Organization, this role will work in partnership with the enterprise Talent Management workforce planning and staffing managers, enterprise Human Resources Operations recruiting personnel, the Organizational Health & Diversity department, and applicable key stakeholders to develop and execute strategies aimed at advancing the diversity in Entergy’s workforce. The position is expected to be primarily focused on hiring opportunities present within the Nuclear Strategic Plan.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

  • Assess needs based on data and trends, and identify areas of highest priority in terms of improving diversity within Entergy’s workforce. Recommend short and long-term strategies that contribute to the building of a diverse, high-performing organization based on data and proven best practices.

  • Develop and implement proactive sourcing and recruiting strategies to ensure a diverse and highly qualified pool of nuclear talent.

  • Research/benchmark best practices and build those into strategies for developing, attracting, hiring and retaining diverse talent.

  • Provide recommendations to leaders and human resource partners regarding initiatives and program and process changes that will help to advance objectives for improving the diversity of talent at Entergy. Offer useful and timely interventions in cases where progress is impeded due to a diversity-related issue.

  • Identify, partner, and leverage relationships with key external organizations / leaders to enhance how Entergy develops, attracts, hires and retains diverse talent. Propose, plan, and coordinate efforts that will help Entergy achieve its objectives through these relationships and activities.

  • Work closely with representatives from other Entergy organizations to build relationships and to drive change and commitment to Diversity & Inclusion issues and initiatives.

  • Collaborate with the Entergy Nuclear Organization, Entergy Mississippi, Entergy Louisiana, Entergy Arkansas and Entergy New Orleans and other business functions across the company in implementing Diversity & Inclusion initiatives that will help to develop, attract and retain diverse candidates.

  • Establish a framework for measuring the impact of the Diversity & Inclusion hiring, retention and talent pipeline development strategies against strategic objectives.

  • Report progress on Diversity & Inclusion initiatives on a periodic basis to a Diversity Outreach Advisory Panel to be established for this purpose.

  • Partner closely with Entergy’s Organizational Health and Diversity, enterprise Talent Management Workforce Planning and Staffing groups, HRO Recruiting and Communications departments to ensure alignment with Entergy programs, processes, and procedures and to leverage best practices and optimize efforts across groups to attract, retain and develop a pipeline of diverse talent.

Minimum Requirements

Minimum education required of the position

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, or a related field with a focus in Diversity & Inclusion programs or related work experience

Minimum experience required of the position

  • Experience working external stakeholders in government and academic institutions, relationship building, etc. Knowledge of STEM workforce talent sources. Experience with Diversity & Inclusion programs or practices is desired.
