This position is in the Analytic and Data Governance portion of the Utility Analytics & Reporting group. UA&R is responsible for the analysis of performance data relating to all aspects of utility operations, the development and reporting of Key Performance Indicators used by leaders throughout the Utility and other Functional Units and the establishment and oversight of performance targets and incentives. The group supports internal customers charged with improving performance to achieve Entergy’s corporate objectives and the Utility Operations Business Plan goals. As a member of the Analytics team, the activities associated with this position could include extracting and reporting data pulled from multiple sources (e.g., AMFM, GeoTab, Customer Interactions), analyzing that data using business and statistical tools to support identification of improvement opportunities, understanding of performance drivers, root cause analysis and other analytical requests. The Analytics team also develops reports and other tools to monitor the effectiveness of investments and process improvement tools, and assists with the development of regular performance measurement metrics.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :
Utilize statistical and data mining analytical techniques within tools such as SPSS and Excel, along with knowledge gained from previous electrical system or technical operations experience to identify challenges and opportunities, develop innovative solutions and recommendations, and present findings to upper management.
Gain knowledge of utility data sources (such as AMFM/DFM, UDW, BW, Complaints) to understand what business questions can be answered by the data and what data issues exists. Query these data sources and prepare the data for analysis. SQL knowledge along with the use of tools such as SQL Server Management Studio and Oracle SQL Developer is required.
Utilize programs such as Cognos, SSRS, and ESRI to author reports that will be used by all levels of the organization in order to make informed decisions.
Know/learn the multiple aspects of the business well enough to be able to understand performance results, conduct analysis to identify issues with performance or processes, and participate in the development of suggested actions / plans to improve results.
Support the development and reporting of key measures that demonstrate the relative level of performance for the Utility and its individual units.
Must be able to work in a team environment, manage multiple time critical projects simultaneously, and operate in a highly visible and rapidly changing work environment.
Minimum Requirements - Education
Bachelor's Degree in a technical or business related field required or equivalent work experience will be accepted. MBA is preferred

Demonstrate a level of quantitative skills and comprehensive knowledge SQL, SSRS, Cognos, SPSS Modeler and Statistics or other business intelligence and analytical tools desirable, as well as Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word.
