This position may be filled as an Engineer I, II, III, Sr. depending on the qualification level of the applicant.


The incumbent will provide system protection and control design services for transmission and distribution substations throughout the Entergy system. Primary duties include project development, relay material specification, cost estimating, and preparation of design details including AC/DC schematics and wiring diagrams for construction packages. Other duties include SCADA and RTU support, substation communications planning, coordination and troubleshooting, support for Critical Infrastructure Projects (CIP) , internal and external standards support and development.

Position involves working in a team oriented, strong matrix environment with all facets of the transmission business and clients, including planning, retail, and third parties working in Entergy's service area. The incumbent must be willing to travel with overnight stays as necessary to complete assignments, including storm restoration support.

Required qualifications :

  • Minimum BS Engineering Degree Electrical Engineer Preferred.

  • Demonstrates good engineering judgment

  • Strong engineering analysis and problem solving skills as required by the specific job

  • Thorough understanding of procedures, programs, and standards in responsible area

Professional Engineering License:

Good working knowledge of :

  • OSI model

  • Communcations (wired, wireless including radio)

  • Redundant Network Architecture and Design

  • IEC 61850, ASE 2000 test sets, DNP3 serial, DNP3 over IP, modem and serial communications (RS232 and RS485), cyber security, TCP/IP networks, SCADA, protocol analysis, and general troubleshooting skills
