The Entergy Corporate Communications group is seeking a communications intern to assist in the development and implementation of communications programs. This role would be working across the corporate communications department to assist in the execution of the Company’s visibility strategy through internal, external and social channels. Based at the corporate headquarters in New Orleans, LA, the intern will be tasked with supporting the corporate communications lead team, and will report to the Director, Corporate & Executive Communications.

Overall Tasks:

Prepare news clipping reports for executive distribution

Assist in developing social media content (Facebook, Twitter, Google+, etc.)

Garner users to follow/like for Entergy

Establish presence on LinkedIn and begin engaging influencers

Copy editing

Assist with special events

Expected time commitment :

40 hours per week

Minimum Requirements

Minimum education required of the position

Pursing undergrad or master's degree in communications, accounting, finance or business related field. GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Minimum experience required of the position

Some work experience preferred.

Qualified candidates will be/have:

Excellent written and verbal communication, strong editing skills

Self-motivated, detail-oriented with strong written, verbal & organizational skills

Excellent computer skills with experience in social media & Microsoft Office

The ability to work independently and with others

Dependability, flexibility, and ability to maintain confidentiality

The ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines

Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, or InDesign preferred

Photography skills are not required, but preferred

Openness to learning and growing within the internship experience

Ideal candidate is an undergraduate (junior or senior) or graduate student in public

relations, marketing, communications, digital communication for business

development. Ideal candidates will be detail oriented, organized and creative and

possess a professional work ethic and be enthusiastic to gain new knowledge.
