Law Clerk/Intern- State and Local Taxation
The candidate will conduct legal research in the areas of multi-state taxation, including, but not limited to, sales/use tax, property tax, miscellaneous taxes and state income/franchise tax. During key state legislative sessions, the position may also support the legislative function including the review and analysis of legislative bills. The candidate must possess a proven ability to conduct legal research and prepare written memoranda. Lexis and/or Westlaw are utilized as legal research tools, as well as specialized tax research services.
Candidates must complete their first or second year of law school by the end of May, 2017 and show an interest in the field of taxation. Interested candidates should submit a cover letter, resume, and law-school transcript in the application. A candidate receiving an offer for temporary full-time summer 2017 employment may be eligible for temporary, part-time work during the 2017-2018 school year pending satisfactory completion of summer work assignments. Candidates for this position are required to have an undergraduate or graduate degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or Economics;orare required to be a Certified Public Accountant.
