This* position will be filled as an Engineer III, Sr or Sr Lead Engineer based on qualifications and experience.*


Provide engineering expertise to the Capital Projects team to be utilized in the design, procurement and construction of power generation facilities, to ensure that any new construction or work to an existing facility results in safe, efficient, and reliable power generation. The role will also ensure that engineering for projects is in compliance with permits, codes, utility design standards, contractual agreements and supports the operations and maintenance goals of the project and portfolio. Also, the role supports projects in the office, plant and construction site environments.


  1. Provide oversight of Electrical engineering and design from EPC firms for major power projects, including development of engineering studies, detailed engineering and design, cost estimates, procurement of equipment, construction and startup/commissioning.

  2. Takes responsibility for assigned project scope to oversee contractor’s performance of the scope.

  3. Works with engineers from third party Owner’s Engineer organizations that are engaged on projects. Reviews their work to ensure that it meets the requirements of the project and any relevant contracts.

  4. Provides detailed technical analysis and perspective for the design of new facilities or for modifications to existing facilities.

  5. Assists in bringing fleet standardized programs into alignment and ensures that lessons learned are implemented across the fleet.

  6. Helps develop and maintain company engineering standards including points of view and approaches for common engineering and design issues.

  7. Travels to project sites to gather data, inspect work and oversee field installations as reasonably required.

  8. Brings broad experience and technical expertise to the CPM&T engineering organization to ensure that the oversight of and response to technical issues is at the necessary level of detail.

  9. Ensures engineering work is performed and programs implemented consistent with standards of excellence.


Minimum education required of the position

B.S. Degree in Engineering. Electrical Engineer preferred.

Desired: Master of Science, Engineering

Minimum experience required of the position

Engineer III: 4-6 years of applicable and progressive experience.

Engineer Sr: 6 years of applicable and progressive experience.

Engineer Sr Lead: 8 years of applicable and progressive experience.

Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position

Power plant operations knowledge with working experience at a generating station. Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multi-projects simultaneously. Good verbal and written communications skills. Strong interpersonal skills, team player and/or leadership skills. Self-starter, independent worker, self-motivator.

Any certificates, licenses, etc. required for the position:

Professional Engineering license desired.
