Job responsibility includes management of various gas business plans in accordance with pipeline safety regulations and identification of opportunities to improve the gas business’ regulatory compliance position while enhancing the safety and reliability of the gas distribution system.

Ensure compliance with all applicable DOT Pipeline Hazardous Material Safety Administration/Office of Pipeline Safety Regulations by effectively managing various business plans. Identify opportunities to improve our ability to demonstrate compliance with applicable regulations.
Coordinate and participate in community outreach programs/events in support of the gas public awareness plan to educate customers and other stakeholders about natural gas safety.
Coordinate the Rapid Action Process (“RAP”) and manage required records in compliance with Office of Pipeline Safety Regulations.
Lead, coordinate and participate in external compliance audits and risk assessments. Conduct periodic audits with internal groups to review written processes and procedures pertaining to a specific audit area; review any required documentation for completeness and accuracy; identify gaps and develop action plans for department managers.
Facilitate discussions with internal stakeholders to identify opportunities to enhance safety and reliability, increase efficiency, and improve regulatory compliance position through the adoption of better practices, including required change management.
Assist with planning and coordinating annual incident drills to measure effectiveness and ability of Gas Operations personnel to respond to gas emergencies.
Represent Entergy’s gas business on various industry working groups at the state, regional, and national levels. Develop and maintain relationships with peer utilities through engagement in industry forums to gain insight into best practices and new technologies. Utilize knowledge gained to improve efficiency and reliability of the gas distribution system.
Support gas emergency response and perform role within Gas Business Storm Plan.
Perform research and analysis to monitor business plan results.
Create and deliver weekly/monthly reports and presentations to communicate ideas, technical information, process improvement and project updates.
Demonstrate strong safety leadership and commitment to safety.
Minimum education required of the position
Bachelor's degree (preferably engineering) or 5-10 years of equivalent utility work experience
Minimum experience required of the position
5-10 years of project management, quality management, regulatory compliance oversight, or natural gas system design, construction or operation experience
Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position
Strong safety commitment
Strong written and oral communication skills
Ability to learn new skills and concepts quickly
Strong organization, decision making, customer service, and leadership skills
High personal accountability
Knowledge of pipeline safety regulations (Desired)
Note: Travel may be required (both within and outside Entergy’s service territory)
