JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE

Manages all aspects of simulator operation, configuration control, maintenance and testing. Manages all aspects of the Emergency Planning and Instructor Training programs. Manages all aspects of training database administration.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides overall direction, leadership, planning and performance of Simulator and Training Support group activities to ensure achievement of budget goals while ensuring safe, reliable, cost efficient operation.

  • Interfaces with the Operations and Emergency Planning Managers to determine how training resources can best be applied to improve performance.

  • Identifies training needs, contract support, budget preparation, and oversight for training departmental corrective action, training, and work activities as related to simulator operation and maintenance, training database administration, emergency plan and instructor training.

  • Drives standardization with fleet-wide processes and procedures related to simulator operation, maintenance, configuration control, and certification to achieve consistently high levels of performance and regulatory compliance.

  • Participates in the development of standardized simulator training guides and testing methodologies that comply with federal regulations and accreditation standards.

  • Represents Entergy at industry conferences, working groups, and other forums related to simulator operations, maintenance, and certification. Interfaces with NRC and INPO personnel on issues related to the simulator, emergency plan and instructor training.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Minimum education required of the position

Desired: B.S. in Education, Engineering, or a related technical degree or equivalent work experience.

Minimum experience required of the position

6 years of commercial nuclear power plant experience in any of the following areas: training, operations, maintenance, RP, chemistry or engineering. 2 years previous experience as a training supervisor or training program lead desired.

Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position

Broad technical understanding of nuclear generation principles and operation. Familiar with company policies and procedures. Proficiency with current computer based applications. Awareness and understanding of federal regulations associated with license operator training, initial license programs, simulator testing and fidelity, and emergency plan training. A solid understanding of the systematic approach to training.

Any certificates, licenses, etc. required for the position

Desired: SRO or certification on BWR or PWR.
