JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE

Builds and maintains effective long-term relationships with a defined customer portfolio to ensure a high level of satisfaction and increase revenues. Serves as the primary interface for all products and services, and creates demand for the organization's products and services by raising their profile with customers. Is responsible for supporting both sales and service responsibilities.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Customer contract negotiations for new and retention of existing business.

  • Rates, Riders & Terms & Conditions (commercial terms & responsibilities).

  • Grow AGM by retaining existing customer and capturing new and incremental sales opportunities.

  • Provide technical support for complex customer operational issues, coordination of planned outages and response for unplanned outages.

  • One point of contact for storm prep and response.

  • Manage existing and develop new long term relationships with complex, industrial customers at multiple levels within the customer organization

  • Be an effective communicator at all levels of the customer organization

  • A strategic thinker with a keen ability to make recommendations to move the business forward.

  • Ability to adapt to new technology trends and translate them into solutions that address client needs

  • Updating internal planning teams on customer forecasts for monthly and annual usage.

  • Negotiating contracts, and executing those sales in an ethical and professional manner that will reflect favorably on the reputation of both the salesperson and the company.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Minimum education required of the position

Bachelor's degree in engineering or business related field and 7+ years of electrical utility, industrial process or military experience OR in lieu of degree 8+ years of electrical utility, industrial process or military experience. Master's degree preferred

Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position

Preferred - Understanding of oil and gas industry (Refining, Chemicals, Industrial Gases, Midstream, other similar industries) and the role of electricity within these processes. Ability to seek out and articulate industry or customer needs and objectives, and advocate for that need . Ability to delegate and coordinate teams as well as deliverables within a matrixed organization. Basic understanding of transmission or distribution delivered power. Ability to communicate effectively during high stress situations. Maintain a professional work ethic while working independently. Manage multiple high priority projects and prioritize daily work to meet deadlines. Knowledge of how a regulated utility operates inculding financing, budget cycles, and procurement process. Sales experience with negotiation skills including: good listening, probing, and qualification abilities
