Summer 2020 Radiation Protection Intern located in Killona, LA at Waterford 3 .
A successful candidate will interfaces with planning and scheduling groups for both outage and on-line job preplanning by providing ALARA input to the planning and scheduling process.
Develop procedure guidance to implement radiological programs.
Technical writing of Radiation Work Permits
Reviewing work details; identifying dose reduction techniques for the work; generating ALARA plan documents, and exposure estimates as necessary; and ensuring that dose reduction planning is incorporated into work execution.
Complete TEDE/ALARA evaluations.
Manage Radiation Protection schedule activities online and outage
Tracking exposures and observing person-rem trends to determine program effectiveness.
Respond to off normal radiological conditions.
Serve as a member of the Emergency Response Organization.
Minimum education required of the position
B.S. Degree in Chemistry or related technical degree may be credited for up to 4 years of experience, or equivalent work experience.
Minimum experience required of the position
3-6 years commercial or military nuclear experience. Desired: At least 2 years experience in the associated department.
Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position
Technical understanding of nuclear generation principles and operations, Outstanding communication and conflict management skills, Proficiency with current computer business applications.
Desired experience with the use of Sentinel, Asset Suite and Primavera (P-6)*
Any certificates, licenses, etc. required for the position
