This position can work out of our Nuclear Headquarters in Jackson, MS, or any one of our four nuclear plants in our fleet (Grand Gulf Nuclear Station - Port Gibson, MS; Arkansas Nuclear One - Russellville, AR; Waterford 3 - Killona, LA; River Bend Station - St Francisville, LA). Preferred Locations: River Bend Station or Nuclear Headquarters.

JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE:
Design Projects Engineering provides high-quality, cost-effective, on schedule design services for the Entergy Nuclear Fleet. This position acts in an Engineer capacity for the Design Projects Digital Engineering team, in accordance with the expectations associated with the job title hired.
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Has developed or desire to develop technical expertise in some or all of the following areas:
Ensure digital modification projects are prepared, reviewed, tested, and monitored with in-depth and specialized methods applied to include the following:
software, hardware, and firmware specification, procurement, verification, and change control
design requirements and failure modes and effects validations
operations interface and maintenance activities
cybersecurity
life cycle management
Prepare and review computer software and hardware changes.
Evaluate the effect of radiated emission for both electromagnetic and radiofrequency emissions on plant equipment. Evaluate the susceptibility of plant components and devices to electromagnetic and radiofrequency emission interference.
Evaluate the human factors engineering effects of design changes proposed for digital equipment.
Prepare and review software quality assurance evaluations.
Develop and evaluate digital specifications.
Test and validate software.
Develop software life cycle strategies and plans.
Develop design input.
Implement configuration controls for digital systems and components. Implement configuration controls for software objects.
Conduct licensing activities such as 10CFR50.59 reviews, ensuring digital-specific considerations are applied.
Coordinate with training:
Coordinate digital design activities with plant simulator personnel to ensure effects are reflected accurately on the plant reference simulator.
Evaluate the effects of plant design changes on simulator operation, fidelity, configuration and certification.
Evaluate with training on requirements for site engineering, maintenance, and operations for the modification.
Determine preventive and predictive maintenance requirements for digital systems and equipment.
Establish, evaluate and maintain digital system and component life cycle programs.
Test and validate digital systems and components.
Develop system and component life cycle strategies and plans.
Develop design input.
Required supervision and functional independence will be in accordance with job title.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Minimum education required for the position
- B.S. degree in Engineering
Minimum experience required for the position
Engineer I: 0 – 2 years experience
Engineer II: 2+ years experience
Engineer III: 4+ years experience
Senior Engineer: 6 years experience (5 years with PE)
Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the position
Desired:
Nuclear Industry Engineering Change Packages qualification (IMG-ENG-001)
Previous experience in Operations IT, Design or Systems engineering teams implementing the digital equipment life cycle.
Familiarity with the Digital modification process (Analog to Digital, Digital to Digital in an industrial environment)
Familiarity in application of EPRI 300201186 Digital Engineering Guide
Familiarity with Distributed Control Systems, SCADA, HMI, and PLC applications implemented within an industrial environment (Ovation, Common Q, etc.)
Any certificates, licenses, etc. required for the position
- Fundamentals of Engineering (EIT) or Professional Engineer’s license is preferred.
