JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE

The Manager, Capital Projects Procurement is responsible for enabling Supplier Commercial Excellence for an assigned portfolio. This position is expected to lead commercial strategy development, planning, and sourcing leveraging a supply chain practitioner skill set in all aspects of the sourcing and procurement process including EPC, Owner’s Engineer, Construction and other service and material contracts. Entergy’s capital investment portfolio is $17.7bn across the company’s Power Generation, Transmission, Distribution, Renewables, and Nuclear business functions. This position could be assigned to one or more of these stated business functions to enable opportunities to maximize end-to-end value across the assigned portfolio of spend.

The Manager role will lead a team of four to seven and will report to the Sr. Manager, Strategic Procurement. This position leads a team of Strategic Sourcing professionals focused on plan, strategy, source, and perform that supports the delivery of safety, cost, quality, schedule, and customer satisfaction measures at a minimum. The Manager role partners with business function leaders (Project Managers, Project Directors, Manager levels) on a regular basis to develop comprehensive and progressive commercial strategies.

Preferred office location is New Orleans, LA, but could be domiciled in The Woodlands, TX; Little Rock, AR or Jackson, MS. The position will require approximately 25% travel to Entergy project sites in the field, Entergy corporate/regional office locations, and to supplier offices.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Safety/Human Performance: Ensure the Team always puts safety first. Actively promote strong safety behaviors, utilizing key tools such as Close Call /Good Catch in addition to proactive field visits to review standards and behaviors. Monitoring and influencing Suppliers to proactively identify any safety concerns.

Supplier Commercial Excellence: Accountable for the development and execution of progressive commercial strategies that enable favorable outcomes for all key stakeholders. Commercial strategies should be comprehensive in nature and developed with the business function in support of business objectives to drive value and service delivery. These comprehensive strategies will support a capital investment portfolio of $17.7bn through 2022 across the company’s Power Generation, Transmission, Distribution, Renewables, and Nuclear business functions.

Partnership: Accountable for establishing and maintaining healthy and positive stakeholder relationships. This activity includes establishing cross-functional and cross-sector teams with key stakeholders and creating a multi-year demand plans with integrated supply chain solutions.

People Leadership: Accountable for leverage of Supply Chain’s Talent Management Strategy to assure the right Supply Chain talent is recruited, developed, retained, and deployed in line with key business priorities. This position will average management of 4-5 FTE’s within the Capital Project Procurement job hierarchy. Mentor and coach staff.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Minimum education required of the position

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, accounting, supply chain management, engineering, finance, or equivalent experience required;.

  • MBA preferred.

  • Professional Supply Chain/Procurement certification preferred.

Minimum experience required of the position

  • 5 years of experience in materials/warehousing, purchasing, contracts or project management. 3 years of supervisory experience and/or equivalent leadership experience.

  • Related energy Supply Chain experience preferred.

Desired knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position

  • 7-10 years of Contracting Experience (development, implementation, and post award contract management) leveraging EPC Contracts, Service, Material, and Engineered Equipment contracts.

  • Strong business acumen and strategic agility, with broad-based knowledge of category management, strategic sourcing and supplier relationship management.

  • Understanding of Capital Project Management stage gate processes & Supply Chain best practices.

  • Strong strategic and analytical thinker with an ability to provide focus on service delivery.

  • Experience with process optimization and continuous improvement in supply chain preferred.

  • Strong collaboration and relationship management skills and abilities.

  • Strong communication, facilitation, presentation and creative problem solving skills.

  • Knowledge of utility industry, regulated organizations, renewable energy, and Nuclear Generation requirements.
