Job Summary/Purpose

Lead Fleet Management including thethree sub functions within the Fleet organization which includes Fleet Assets; Fleet Maintenance and Fleet Services.

  • Fleet Assets provides vehicle consultation; acquisition, up fitting and financing (Management of System Portfolio) by working closely with Finance, Supply Chain, Operation’s management, front line supervisors, and several partnered vendors to ensure the appropriate vehicle is designed and acquired for the identified application. The ability to work closely with the field supervisors and the Fleet Advisory Council (FAC) is critical to developing appropriate specifications while managing costs. Responsible for keeping abreast of industry and regulatory changes that can impact Entergy’s fleet operations. Examples are fleet technologies that will in near future be required to comply with the federal DOT laws or FASB and GAAP account practice changes that impact Entergy’s acquisition model and financial reporting.

  • Fleet Maintenance is responsible for equipment repair; maintenance and DOT compliance by providing annual inspections. Team manages all aspects of vehicle maintenance include telemetry and other specialized hydraulic mounted equipment maintaining all industry and ASNI standards. Manages maintenance; repairs and outsourcing partners The group works closely with the field to minimize equipment down time and financial impact.

  • Fleet Services manages parts of the DOT compliance. Manage all work requests via a work management system to schedule maintenance/repairs and warranty work of our medium duty; specialized equipment and hydraulic units with internal/outsourced resources. This team manages all aspects of light duty maintenance, services and DOT compliance with outsourced resources. This team manages the fuel cards; licensing and titling multiple contracts to support parts; washing; maintenance; testing and other processes. Responsible for invoice review; processing and payments.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

  1. Oversee and direct transportation and fleet policies, systems and processes.

  2. Ensure compliance with internal company processes & procedures, maintenance service schedules, mandatory DOT and ANSI inspections, company safety policies, and local government regulations applicable to fleet operations.

  3. Develop a fleet strategic direction and associated tactics and gain consensus among stakeholders. Strategic direction includes traditional fleet management; green fleet; electric vehicle and internal and external resource strategies.

  4. Develop cost containment strategies and gain consensus among stakeholders.

  5. Provide analysis, overviews, reports and recommendations in all matters related to transportation and fleet.

  6. Aggressively drive a safety culture within the organization to achieve zero accidents and injuries both internal and external to fleet.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Minimum education required of the position

Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, Finance or Engineering or equivalent work experience.

Preferred

Strong equipment knowledge.

Utility finance and equipment finance knowledge

Understanding of utility distribution; transmission and power generation operation

Minimum experience required of the position

7+ years

Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required of the position

Knowledge of computerized fleet training, vehicle and hydraulics training, customer service, and contract management.
