Entergy Metering Field Mechanic in Luling, Louisiana

This position will be titled Mech, Meter Field I, II, Sr., based on experience and skill level
This postion is based out of Luling, LA. Those who reside outsite of the area may be required to relocate to meet reporting requirements. Relocation assistance is not availble for this posting
JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE:
Install, maintain and test all instrument transformer rated meters.
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Test, verify and troubleshoot all System tie points. Operate packaged meter and recorder software applications.
Install and monitor all load research equipment. Prepare service orders, multiplier sheets, and associated paperwork for transformer rated meters.
Troubleshoot communications of remote metering.
Perform vector, load analysis and power factor tests on all metering installations.
Calculate meter constants on all types of installations.
Distribution Line outage restoration, such as scouting and refusing.
Lift, carry or transport up to 42lbs, climb ladders (extension ladders up to 25 feet) and have the ability to pull, push, lift, crawl, kneel, stoop, bend, reach overhead and stand for long periods of time.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum education required of the position
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Minimum experience required of the position
Mech Meter Field I - Prior utility field experience preferred.
Mech, Meter Field II - Minimum 3+ years utility field experience required.
Mech, Meter Field Sr . - Minimum 5+ years utility field experience required.
Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position
Must have a good safety record and possess a safe attitude. Must have competent computer skills. Must have competent Mathematics and Trigonometry skills. Knowledge of basic electric circuit analysis, vector I phase or relationship. Knowledge of meter terminology is mandatory. Ability to work independently and with others. Must be customer oriented. Must be able to work in industrial and petrochemical plants. Must be a self-starter, dependable, have the ability to plan and organize.
Any certificates, licenses, etc. required for the position
Requires successful completion of the EEI CAST test.

EEI Testing:
One way that Entergy has found to identify and assess the abilities and skills needed for certain jobs is through pre-employment testing. If this position does require an EEI test, the type of test will be located under the qualifications section of the job posting.
