Job Summary & Purpose:

This position is responsible for directing HR Business Partners in delivering the strategic HR services and programs for Entergy’s Utility business unit. Partners to deliver services needed by customers and influence the future success of the Utility business unit by influencing decisions to include an HR focus for long-term operations, creating business value.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Serve as strategic thought partner to the leadership team and will have a business focused mindset to help translate business agenda to human capital strategies.

  • Operate as a trusted advisor to leadership team serving as the expert on people and organizational issues.

  • Focused on transformational talent agenda designed to attract, develop and retain top talent.

  • Manages the HR Managers (HRBPs) in their support of specific business or organizational units within the Utility.

  • Develops strategies and implements plans that align to business unit objectives

  • Aligns human capital programs and processes to business unit objectives.

  • Partners with the VP, HR Business Partners and the individual HR Business Partners to help define service level expectations for clients and then provide periodic feedback on performance levels in accordance with expectations set by Director, HR Business Partners.

  • Oversees the delivery of strategic HR services by Utility HR Business Partners. Strategic HR services include, but aren’t limited to the following: strategic staffing plans, including headcount projections and talent sourcing strategies, organizational design, leadership development, including, but not limited to the following: personal development and coaching for business leaders, improving work team dynamics at all levels, succession planning, performance management, including 1st quarter performance management and compensation support, supporting Labor Relations with the development and implementation of Labor Strategies, and supporting large operational projects. Small project support for unique issues and concerns; helps to support small project efforts for client organizations that may not fit squarely within another area of HR.

  • Develops partnerships across the HR/HRO functions to deliver value-added services to business leaders that reflect the business objectives of the organization.

  • Supports a culture of employee engagement that values diversity and inclusion.

  • Works in partnership with business leaders to provide specialist coaching, support and influence that enable key clients to effectively deliver their people plans. Integrate solutions with partners in HR and other groups such as Legal, Finance and Regulatory.

Minimum Requirements:

Minimum education required of the position:

  • Typically requires a college or university degree in related field or the equivalent work experience.

Minimum experience required of the position:

  • 10+ years

Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position:

  • Experience in human resources for utility operations
