Entergy Drafter - Transmission in New Orleans, Louisiana

* This position will be filled as Drafter I, II, III or Sr based on the experience and qualifications of the selected candidate. *

JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE:

Perform various drafting and document management assignments working with AutoCAD version 2006 and above, Raster Design, Inventor, Electrical and Civil 3D Land Development Civil/Survey applications. Create and maintain Substation/System Protection (relaying) and Transmission Line project drawings, Substation Switching one-lines, Entergy System Maps in accordance to Transmission drafting and Document Management standards. Responsible for maintaining drawing database utilizing the Meridian Document Management toolkit.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Drafting of Engineering drawings for Substation, Relay and Transmission Line engineering design projects

  • Oversight and enforcement of Drafting Standards of work performed by Designers, consultants, etc.

  • Maintenance and distribution of onelines and maps

  • Manage record asset drawings/documents in the Document Management Tool - Meridian

  • Support AutoCAD suite of products (Raster Design, Inventor, Electrical, Civil 3D)

  • Support computer hardware and plot/scan equipment. Manage FOC requests & issue asset & station numbers for Substation assets

  • Tracking and logging assignments utilizing SharePoint and Excel

  • Managing project task in scheduling tool – Primavera

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum Experience and Education:

  • Previous drafting and AutoCAD experience

  • Drafter I: 2 - 4 years of experience, or a 2-yr. technical certification with 1 year of working experience

  • Drafter II: 4 - 6 years of experience, or a 2-yr. technical certification with 2 years of working experience

  • Drafter III: 6 - 8 years of experience, or a 2-yr. technical certification with 4 years of working experience

  • Drafter Sr: 8+ years of experience, or a 2-yr. technical certification with 6 years of working experience

  • Preferred : 2-year technical degree or certification in Computer Aided Drafting

Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Previous drafting experience (board and computer)

  • Proficient in Microsoft

  • Proficient AutoCAD skills while applying basic drafting techniques and concepts

  • Possesses good verbal and written communication skills

  • Has the ability to work with other personnel, departments, and organizations as part of a team

  • Computer proficiency; experience using technology

Any Certificates, Licenses, etc.:

  • Successful completion of the EEI TECH test; must be EEI TECH test recommended.

EEI Testing:

One way that Entergy has found to identify and assess the abilities and skills needed for certain jobs is through pre-employment testing. If this position does require an EEI test, the type of test will be located under the qualifications section of the job posting.
