Support AICC (Asset Inventory, Collection and Conflation) project by completing the following tasks:Coordinate data collection efforts for to the Distribution, Transmission, and Gas workgroups during the entire term of the project timeframeCoordinate land-base acquisition process that will be used within Smallworld GIS.Support GIS integrations with all Grid Mod related applications.
Provide safety leadership by exemplifying strong safety culture for others to follow.
Track progress of inventory collection for each business unit which includes communication with each business unit (Transmission status updates, Distribution status updates, GAS status updates)
Track progress of conflation efforts per local office to communicate with Data Maintenance and Design workgroups
Coordinate conflicting alternatives with Data Maintenance
Coordinate completion of work packets received from the vendor weekly/monthly for upload into the Smallworld GIS (requires communication with Entergy IT)
Coordinate data model changes with Manager for prioritization purposes
Identify gaps/issues in Conflation and escalate to manager for resolution
Identify data concerns that require detailed review by DM personnel and track resolution
Identify if additional resources are required within Data Maintenance and coordinate resource needs with manager
Track outstanding field issues that require additional information from the LiDAR/Inventory vendor
- Coordinate field inspections with the vendor and identify process to submit changes to Conflation vendor
Coordinate land-base acquisition process that will be used within Smallworld GIS
Assist IT and DM workgroups in the data upload process (vendor data into Smallworld GIS)
Identify best practices to manage land-base data and coordinate process changes with Data Maintenance workgroup (quarterly updates, annual updates)
Support GIS integrations with all Grid Mod related applications:
Coordinate GIS impacts on applications to ensure seamless transition from legacy applications to new programs
Smallworld to AMFM Oracle, Smallworld to CCS, Smallworld to ESRI, Smallworld to Maximo and vice versa
Participate in GIS workshops to support new functionality
Two way synchronization between Smallworld and ESRI
System enhancements to legacy GIS, ESRI, Maximo that are impacted based on GIS needs
Minimum education required of the position
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering discipline from a 4 year accredited institution. Degrees in engineering technology from a 4 year accredited institution with PE may be considered.
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with PE or the ability to acquire PE within 2 – 5 years, depending on Engineer level.
Minimum experience required of the position
Engineer II: 2+ years experience in an engineering discipline
Engineer III: 4+ years experience in an engineering discipline
Sr Engineer -6+ years experience in an engineering discipline.
Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position
Must exemplify strong safety and leadership practices
Basic knowledge of the National Electric Safety Code (NESC), and National Electric Code (NEC)
Technical mastery of engineering principles
In-depth knowledge of procedures, programs, and standards in responsible area.
Consistently drives for value through sound engineering principles.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Ability to work well under pressure
Required to work safely and follow all Entergy safety policies and understand the importance of delivering a high level of customer service. Demonstrated acceptance of a diverse and inclusive work environment.
Ability to work effectively in a culturally diverse work group
Ability to read and understand electrical one-line diagrams, schematics, and wiring diagrams, technical manuals and instruction books
Computer competency required
Must be dependable and reliabile, and work as member of a team. Must have good intrapersonal skills; must be self-motivated with ability to make decisions
Must have or be able to obtain a TWIC card
Any certificates, licenses, etc. required for the position
Engineer III-Sr - EIT OR Graduate Level Engineering Degree OR MBA Required. Must have valid driver's license and good driving record.
