Responsible for the coordination and management of the IT activities associated with decommissioning and/or divestiture of nuclear facilities utilizing the IT Project Management Office process. The role requires thought leadership to determine the most effective and efficient methods to decommission Entergy's technology platforms which include a broad range of IT products and services including applications, infrastructure (WAN, LAN, and Wireless), real time computing systems (plant process computer and security computer), telecommunications systems (including private branch exchanges and other telephone equipment), laptop and desktop PC. This role requires the ability to plan, execute, and finalize multiple projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members, team leaders and third-party contractors or consultants in order to deliver projects according to plan.
Using the IT standard tools and strategy coordinate the decommissioning or divestiture of Entergy nuclear facilities. Duties include logically removing, transferring or retiring infrastructure, networks, software applications and databases, communication systems, real time systems and other IT equipment located at the facility. Duties include but are not limited to the following:
Define project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with strategy, senior management and stakeholders.
Effectively communicate project expectations to team leads, team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis.
Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders.
Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using PMO tools.
Track project milestones and deliverables.
Determine the frequency and content of status reports from the project team, analyze results, and troubleshoot problem areas.
Define project success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout project life cycle.
Develop best practices and tools for project execution and management and document in IT’s Playbook.
Draft and submit budget proposals and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary.
Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team.
Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path.
Assist with transitioning IT programs such as Software Quality Assurance and nuclear Cyber Security to the Buyer.
Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.
Maintain awareness of future emerging trends, innovative technologies, best practices, and regulations, in both the Energy and IT industries. Drive technology change / transformation consistent with both the business and IT strategies and assist with the measurement of the technology performance and contribution to objective-setting.

Minimum education required of the position
Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or Computer Science or equivalent work experience. Master's degree preferred.
Minimum experience required of the position
Three or more years' experience in Information Technology with experience managing program portfolios , Minimum of 2+ years’ experience in commercial nuclear power; Desired : Minimum of 5+ years evaluating and working on new technology
Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position
Experience with the issues and challenges associated with the Energy industry (e.g., regulation, technologies). Good awareness of strategic planning and Architecture frameworks. Working knowledge in most areas of technology (infrastructure, commercial applications, software development, end-user platforms, IT operations). Significant Project management experience. Ability to communicate and present effectively with all levels in the organization. Strong interpersonal communications skills. Excellent writing and presentation skills.
