Ensures that Entergy's property records are complete and accurate The job includes all aspects for accounting for property including capital and O&M determination, ensuring acquisitions, maintenance, additions and retirements are recorded properly. The roles' purpose is also to ensure that property-related calculations like AFUDC, depreciation, capital suspense etc. are properly accounted for. This role also plays a significant role in regulatory support such as depreciation studies, rate cases, spent nuclear fuel, etc. This role also manages the process and rules for funding projects and work orders including capital project code review and approval.
Account for property acquisitions, maintenance, additions, retirements, divestitures, etc.
Perform key accounting activities related to property including: Account reconciliations; Allocations, depreciation, AFUDC, CWIP, capital suspense, unitization; Supporting monthly billing method refresh; and correct data issues and assess impacts to capital estimates.
Provide regulatory support for rate cases, RFI's , depreciation studies, spent nuclear fuel, etc.
Manage the entire capital project code process including review and approval. This also includes the proper capital vs. O&M determination.
Responsible for enforcement and guidance related to capital related polices such as capitalization, capital suspense, storm capital spares.
Support external reporting (10-Ks/10-Qs, FERC form 1, Form 60's, plant schedules, etc.) and internal management reporting (open CWIP, 106 reporting, overspent and caution reports). Mortgage and lease accounting.
Minimum education required of the position
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field or equivalent experience. MBA or advanced degree in Accounting preferred.
Minimum experience required of the position
7-10 years experience in accounting or financial processes and management of a mid-size team of employees.
Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position
Knowledge: 'Expert' in processes, systems and controls; Technical accounting knowledge. Knowledge of Sarbanes Oxley requirements including testing as coordinated with internal and external auditors. Skills: Able to manage multiple and frequently changing priorities; Knows direct and indirect customers for all work processes and understands their needs. Abilities: Ability to identify problems, trends, and reasonableness; Identify/recommend possible solutions; Ability to supervise others and coordinate with other departments/functions.
Any certificates, licenses, etc. required for the position
CPA license preferred
