Support development of regulatory and policy positions related to new and emerging technologies, related products, services, and utility programs, as well as grid modernization efforts. Support development of clear point of view (POV) for the Utility on new and emerging technologies. Help develop strategy around implementation of grid modernization efforts as well as new products, services, and utility programs related to new and emerging technologies. Support OpCo regulatory filings as directed by management.
Assist with researching regulatory and policy implications of grid modernization efforts and new and emerging technologies and related products, services, and utility programs.
Assist with development of POVs on regulatory and other issues related to grid modernization, new and emerging technologies and related products, services, and utility programs.
Assist Operating Companies with strategy development on grid modernization and emerging technology-related rulemakings and related efforts (RFPs, resource certifications, expert witness testimony, program approvals).
Provide thought leadership, develop and leading execution, inducing coordinating with Regulatory Services and Operating Companies, of strategy on evolving rate design for utility customers.
Work in conjunction with Regulatory Services to understand potential rate and customer bill impacts of major business modernization investment opportunities.
Work in conjunction with Jurisdictional Regulatory Affairs and Regulatory Strategy teams to determine optimal regulatory strategies around new business opportunities, including rate design, and effecting successful regulatory reviews and approvals.
Minimum education required of the position
Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent work experience. MBA preferred
Minimum experience required of the position
Minimum 5 years’ experience in utility arena
Minimum knowledge , skills and abilities required of the position
Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills. Effective oral and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team setting. Effective project management skills. Excellent organizational skills, ability to organize and prioritize work, and manage teams. Ability to work effectively on multiple assignments simultaneously. Flexible and able to adjust to changing priorities. Willing and able to perform other duties as required and learn new processes and technologies.
