JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for the development of the strategic direction on Regional Transmission Organization (RTO) matters that support the company’s operational and financial goals through leadership and coordination with other company business areas. Interface with the Regional Transmission Organization (MISO, including stakeholder groups, task forces, and committees), regulatory trade associations, and state public utility commission personnel for the purpose of ensuring the Entergy Operating Companies, and the Entergy Transmission business function, are prepared to respond appropriately to policy and regulatory market rules and developments that may impact the development, interconnection, construction, and operation of existing and future transmission and generation assets.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitor regulatory and RTO stakeholder proceedings and communicate business implications to Entergy Transmission organization, OpCos , and other affected functions such as SPO and the Utility Group.

  • Identify impacts of RTO initiatives on transmission and corporate positions in a timely manner. Develop and coordinate transmission strategy on RTO matters and ensure support by senior management. Provide timely and continuous RTO-related information to affected business functions to ensure consistency with corporate positions and strategies. Execute strategies externally for advancing the company’s position.

  • Lead cross-functional teams to establish priorities of various transmission issues and initiatives while developing and advocating Entergy positions in regulatory and RTO stakeholder processes.

  • Assist with interpretation of existing and proposed regulatory market rules as they apply to the development, interconnection, and operation of existing and prospective generation and transmission projects.

  • Provide regular reports to key Entergy stakeholders (Transmission leadership, OpCos, SPO) regarding key regulatory initiatives and events, while identifying associated risks and opportunities.

  • Participate on various industry groups, as needed, dealing with transmission and generation interconnection issues to advocate on behalf of Entergy’s projects and policy initiatives.

  • Establish and maintain strong professional relationships with RTO staff, state public utility commission personnel, and other key industry stakeholders. Advocate Transmission’s position both internally and externally to senior management, regulators, stakeholders and leadership of RTOs.

  • Attend relevant RTO stakeholder meetings in order to monitor and/or advocate issues of importance to Entergy’s Transmission organization.

  • Partner with other companies and/or stakeholders to advocate for favorable policy outcomes that align with Entergy’s present and future commercial interests.

  • Facilitate participation in trade association efforts related to regulatory policy on transmission issues.

  • Prepare and review written and oral internal and external reports, comments, and briefing materials on transmission related policy matters.

  • Regularly communicate, both written and orally, with senior management and internal customers to ensure awareness of current RTO and reliability issues that impact Entergy’s operations.

  • Maintain expertise regarding FERC/MISO tariff matters, Transmission Owner’s Agreement, and related regulatory matters including analyzing MISO filings and FERC orders

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Education required of the position :

  • Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent work experience. JD and/or engineering degree preferred.

Minimum Experience required of the position :

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in regulatory affairs or related area.

  • Utility experience a plus.
