Senior Project Manager, Transmission Project Management & Construction (TPM&C)

Responsible for the Transmission portfolio management process within a specific Operating area - engaging key stakeholders in the development and formulization of the strategic plan for Transmission including goals and objectives, driving detailed planning and evaluation of project investments early in the project lifecycle to achieve realistic budget baselines from the outset and alignment with strategic goals, optimizing project execution strategy and prioritization, gathering and analyzing project performance data, provide reporting & review the portfolio to ensure alignment with strategy & effective resource utilization & construction optimization.


  • Early engagement with project planning teams to ensure Stage Gate process requirements and deliverables have been met.

  • Facilitate adding or removing projects to the 10 year capital plan.

  • Engage with Jurisdictional Expert Team and technical SMEs as necessary to vet project scopes and bundling opportunity. Confirm project bundling & co-ordination with project development team.

  • Gather and analyze project performance data, provide reporting & review the portfolio to ensure alignment with strategy & effective resource utilization & construction optimization.

  • Monthly portfolio reporting - monitor costs and schedule and adjust for variances: Obtain project cost, schedule and risk data from project development and project controls.

  • Develop portfolio models and analysis, metrics and reporting including schedule, financial, and resource data; Identify trends and opportunities for balancing and optimizing portfolio and complete what if analyses; Maintenance of data on the SharePoint site.

  • Review portfolio and rebalance by initiating flex projects or pushing/pulling projects with Operating Company approval.

  • Guide technology development to improve estimating, cost management, scheduling, reporting.

  • Capture and analyze results from project investments including benefits achieved & schedule and cost variances to plan. Data will be captured to inform future capital investments plans. Check actuals and update estimating models as necessary.


Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.

Minimum Experience:

  • 7 years of progressively responsible experience in the utility industry.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Solid understanding of the organization's business operations and industry.

  • Strong analytical skills.

Any Certificates, Licenses, etc.:

  • Preferred : PMP Certification
