Job Summary/Purpose

The Supply Chain Network Operations Leader serves as the senior operational leader overseeing the safe operations of receiving, storing, maintaining, issuing, distributing, and returning of materials throughout Entergy’s portfolio of jurisdictional locations.

As the leader accountable for approximately 175 employees and contractors across 100+ locations, building and maintaining a strong culture of safety and operational excellence is critical. This role will drive the use of standardized practices, housekeeping, equipment, technology, and ERP-enabled processes and controls with a continuous improvement mindset.

This leader integrates effectively with peers and senior customer groups to operationalize various material strategies that ensure the right materials are in the right place to enable work execution while balancing our investment across a $1B managed asset portfolio. This includes direct leadership in operationalizing the transformational workstreams in our integrated asset materials service portfolio of initiatives.

Core Responsibilities:

Safety/Human Performance

  • Ensures the Team always puts safety first. Actively promotes strong safety behaviors, utilizing key tools and regular proactive field visits to review standards and behaviors. Monitors and influences suppliers to proactively identify and resolve any safety concerns

Integrated Asset Materials Service

  • Oversees the execution of the multi-year strategic roadmap to world class, including optimizing the capital required for inventory, establishing clear service levels that incorporate an acceptable risk profile, liaising with senior level customers to obtain feedback on performance, assuring execution oversight and delivery of all daily warehouse operations, monitoring key financial and operational performance indicators to drive results, ensuring key processes, systems and interfaces are effective and as efficient as possible, and establishing clarity and expectations in the customer interfaces to our processes

Warehouse Optimization

  • Directs the ongoing optimization and improvement of the company’s warehouse operations in alignment with end-to-end support from Work Management to Delivery to Operations in the field. This activity includes review of physical structures, unit cost structure, supporting new technology, workforce capabilities, planning, development, and diversity

Performance & Partnership

  • Maintains a strong customer focus that balances value and service level, in service to the large internal customer base with mission-critical services. The performance of this position has a direct impact on the company’s finances, reliability, external customer satisfaction, and ability to deliver on its commitments

Service Orientation

  • Aligns with customers around service level indicators and plans for monitoring and improving them; knows the plans of its customer base and uses them to identify and prioritize improvements

Business Continuity

  • Manages the planning, development, testing, and execution of disaster recovery operations in support of the operating business units. This function is critical given the company’s exposure to weather and other events, and the necessity of the services the company provides to its customers and communities


  • Always operates with the highest ethical standards and in full compliance with internal controls, policies, procedures, regulations, and laws. Collaborates with supply base partners to execute Entergy’s Supplier Diversity, Sustainability, & Local Spend objectives

People Leadership

  • Leverages Supply Chain’s Talent Management Strategy to assure the right Supply Chain talent is recruited, developed, retained, and deployed in line with key business priorities. Mentors and coaches staff with a focus on succession planning and the overall health of the operational talent pipeline

Continuous Improvement

  • Enables a workforce-driven continuous improvement culture to achieve premier financial and operational results. As a leader, enables time & resources to execute continuous improvement opportunities. Participates, engages, and utilizes continuous improvement tools, frameworks, principles, and professional training as a standard


Education, Experience and/or Certification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Accounting, Engineering, Legal, or other related discipline OR in lieu of a degree, 4+ years of combined operational supply chain experience can be substituted

Minimum experience required of the position

  • 12+ years of experience in warehouse and/or distribution center operations, with progressively more responsibilities including large scale operations across multiple locations


  • 5+ years supervisory experience and/or equivalent leadership experience managing across multiple sites and locations

  • Experience leading warehouse operations through transitions to new ERP systems, preferably Maximo

  • Experience with application of lean thinking principles, including systematic waste identification and elimination

  • Ability to foster a healthy safety culture across many locations

  • Strong business acumen and organizational agility, with knowledge of standard inventory systems and operations

  • Strong strategic and analytical thinker with an ability to provide focus on performance and delivery

  • Demonstrated effective multi-site supervisory experience in a change management environment

  • Experience with process optimization and continuous improvement preferred

  • Strong collaboration, relationship management, and negotiation skills and abilities

  • Strong communication, facilitation, decision-making, and practical problem-solving skills
