The ideal candidate will have experience or interest in piping/structural design
Provides technical support related to plant design and programs. Responsible for delivery of safe, reliable and timely capital modifications to Arkansas Nuclear One.
Support the design and analysis of changes to existing power plants.
Develop integrated systems designs and perform supporting calculations for the planned work.
Prepare detailed calculations for piping and pipe supports.
Perform independent reviews of work performed by others including calculations and drawing preparation.
Coordinate and provide guidance to other engineers, project managers, client personnel, and suppliers to ensure a complete and timely design.
Provide guidance as a mentor in the development of less experienced engineers.
Serves on outage engineering support teams.
Attends training and maintains qualifications necessary to perform required group functions. Ensures fleet lessons are learned and good practices implemented.
Serves as a member of the emergency response organization.
Minimum education required of the position
B.S. Degree in Engineering or other closely related scientific discipline/physical science generally associated with power plant operations or equivalent work experience (equivalent experience defined as demonstrated success at the engineer/technical specialist level.)
Preferred: Mechanical or Civil Engineering advanced degree
Minimum experience required of the position
Engineer II: 2 – 3 years experience in nuclear power design, operations, or equivalent, depending upon engineering level
Engineer III: 3 – 5 years experience in nuclear power design, operations, or equivalent, depending upon engineering level
Engineer Sr: 6+ years experience in nuclear power design, operations, or equivalent, depending upon engineering level
Desired: Previous nuclear experience in piping/civil/structural design engineering. Working knowledge of AISC (American Institute of Steel Construction), ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Codes, and structural design software.
Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required of the position
Identifies and resolves plant issues and acts as a liaison between engineering team and Operations and Maintenance departments.
Any certificates, licenses, etc. required of the position
Desired: Professional Engineering License
