JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE

Provides first line supervision of Entergy full time and temporary Planning personnel in a safe, productive manner.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Proficient at managing a multi-disciplined Planning group, possibly including union and contractor oversight.

Maintains an excellent understanding of the work management process.

Must be able to function as a team leader. Ability to assist in the Planning budget development and function within the budget.

Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization, including representing the Planning department at all meetings. Ensures assigned Planning tasks are performed as safely and efficiently as possible.

Proposes time saving tooling and work methods. Ensures all Planning activities are performed within regulatory and procedural guidelines. Demonstrates the ability to manage Planning personnel and resolve employee conflict or concerns. Interfaces with other Entergy sites to maximize resource sharing for Planning.

Interfaces with regulatory and industry representatives on behalf of station Planning activities. Communicates Planning technical information, concepts, and ideas verbally and in writing. Participates in the shared resources program and serves as a member of the Emergency Response Organization.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Minimum education required of the position

High school diploma or equivalent work experience.

Minimum experience required of the position

2 years of technical training and 5 years of experience in the related field. (B.S. in Engineering or related technical degree may be credited for 3 years of experience.) Desired: At least 5 years of experience in the Planning department.

Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position

Technical proficiency in the Planning area. Technical understanding of nuclear generation principles and operation. Proficiency with current computer business applications.

Any certificates, licenses, etc. required for the position

SRO or certification on BWR or PWR (desired).
