Brief Position Description

The Physical Security Specialist assists in maintenance of physical security systems such as access control, intrusion detection, identification badging, video surveillance, card accessandother security and safety systems designed to protect Entergy’s assets. Scopeof the role includes corporate offices, field offices, substations, fossil sites, control centersanddata centers. The Specialist will assist in maintaining a world-class physical security program that provides employees with a seamless experience while keeping them and our assets safe at all times.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assist with execution of strategy, roadmap and delivery plans for Physical Security technology

  • Assist with day-to-day operations and maintenance of systems and components involved in ensuringphysicalsecurity of the enterprise

  • Assist with execution of processes to identify all access points and measures to control entry at those access points through each physical security perimeter

  • Assists with enforcing procedures for the appropriate use of physical access controls, visitor pass management, response to loss, and prohibition ofinappropriateuse of physical access controls

Experience needed

This position will be filled as an Info Sec Engineer I, II, or III depending on experience.

Sec Engineer I:

  • One year of physical security systems experience across multiple corporate offices & physical facilities

  • Experience with security operations and incident response (monitoring, log gathering, event correlation, configuration, databases, etc.)

  • Exposure to physical security systems and technologies such as Avigilon & Lenel

  • Experience working with outsourced teams

  • Organizational and time management skills

Sec Engineer II:

  • One to three years of physical security systems experience across multiple corporate offices & physical facilities

  • Experience with security operations and incident response (monitoring, log gathering, event correlation, configuration, databases, etc.)

  • Hands on experience with physical security systems and technologies such as Avigilon & Lenel

  • Experience with Technical Security Counter Measures (TSCM)

  • Experience working with outsourced teams

  • Organizational and time management skills

Sec Engineer III:

  • Three to five years of physical security systems experience across multiple corporate offices & physical facilities

  • Broad experience with security operations and incident response (monitoring, log gathering, event correlation, configuration, databases, etc.)

  • Minimum of 1 year ofhands onexperience managing physical security systems and technologies such as Avigilon & Lenel

  • Experience with Technical Security Counter Measures (TSCM)

  • Experience working with outsourced teams

  • Strong organizational and time management skills

  • Experience working in partnership with colleagues (e.g. corporate security) throughout the enterprise

Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required of the position

  • Understanding of physical security systems in compliance with NERC CIP & NRC Nuclear Cyber (10 CFR 73.54) regulations

  • Understanding of tools and technologies for physical security such as card access, video surveillance, cameras, motion detection, badging, etc.

  • Understanding of security operations, access management, intrusion detection, and physical security

  • Understanding of security, risk, and control frameworks and standards such as ISO 27001 and 27002, SANS-CAG, NIST, FISMA, COBIT, COSO and ITIL

  • Knowledge of current IT Security trends and evolutions in physical security

  • Good communication skills

  • Available to travel

  • Capable of meeting deadlines

Education required

Associate’s degree in computer science,cyber securityor a related discipline or equivalent work experience.

Any certificates, licenses, etc., required for the position

ISACA certification, such as CISSP, CISM, CISA a plus

Relevant vendor credentials offered by companies such as Symantec a plus

Office environment with minimal physical requirements.
