Job Summary/Purpose

The Security Intelligence & Support Analyst performs targeted profile collections, data processing and analysis and collaborates with company operational components to leverage high value data for prioritization. They are responsible for performing cyber and physical intelligence threat analysis and exploitation activities and for gathering threat intelligence feeds from external sources, understand the threat landscape and then integrate them into a single threat framework for situational awareness.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

Investigates, documents, and reports on cyber and physical security issues and emerging trends

Leverages a threat intelligence platform to monitor threats and coordinate priorities with the security technology team

Categorize Incidents consistently with response plans

Report events with established criteria

Monitor open and closed sources for newly identified vulnerabilities and determine appropriate response and mitigations

Participate in Incident Response and Business Continuity exercises as necessary

Gather indicators of compromises from industry and professional organizations

Develops and maintains threatscape through collecting, correlating and analyzing input from both external and internal sources to identify potential cybersecurity threats and vulnerabilities

Perform complex system administration tasks (e.g. customization, cross-tool integration) for security tools

Design and implement improvements to current security services, tools, processes, and procedures

Influence the acquisition and usage of intelligence data sources

Develop and report intelligence analysis findings to pertinent stakeholders

Identify opportunities to enhance Entergy’s defenses to counter identified threats

Keep abreast of the latest tools, techniques, and procedures utilized by attackers in order to identify necessary mitigations

Analyze relevant datasets for risks or anomalies

Minimum Requirements

Minimum education required of the position

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience

Minimum experience required of the position

5+ years’ experience with performing as an analyst in a cyber, physical security or information security role

1 year experience working in vulnerability management or intelligence

Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position

Knowledge of incident response process

Ability to understand and critically analyze technical issues in heterogeneous environment

Programming/scripting skills (e.g., Python, Perl, etc.)

Technical knowledge of operating systems (e.g., UNIX, Windows)

Familiarity with common enterprise security tools including SIEMs, Threat Intelligence Platfrorms, vulnerability scanners, etc.

An ability streamline multiple complex tasks through automation

Excellent writing and communication skills

Knowledge of STIX, TAXII, and other similar specifications

Familiarity with Information Sharing and Analysis Centers (E.g., E-ISAC, FS-ISAC, etc.) or other threat inteligence sharing platforms

Any certificates, licenses, etc. required for the position

One or more of the following preferred:

Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC)

Certified Protection Profession (CPP)

Certified Computer Examiner (CCE)

Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE)

Certified Computer Forensics Examiner (CCFE)

Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)

Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)
