The Supervisor, Site Procurement reports to Manager, Site Procurement. This position is accountable/responsible for supervision of the purchasing, inventory management, and minor contract administration processes at Entergy's nuclear plants. The Supervisor, Site Procurement will serve as key points of contact between the Supply Chain organization and interfacing plant departments including Maintenance, Production, Engineering, Operations, Chemistry, and Project Management.
Supporting leadership in the administration of the Supply Chain processes. Day to day supervision of assigned staff. Manage multiple and sometimes conflicting priorities. Manage multi-disciplined groups and function as a team leader for assigned Supply Chain Process/Commodity Team. Focus team on improving station equipment reliability through appropriate stocking of critical and non-critical components.
Assist in budget development and manage departmental functions within budget. Prepare reports, charts and briefings dealing with material acquisition, inventories, material availability, contract status, etc. Manage site inventory to ensure that appropriate parts are available to meet the work week schedule while at the same time not maintaining obsolete or excess stock, and minimizing total costs. Work with Production and Maintenance Departments to minimize over reservation of materials.
Responsible for safety, leadership, training and supervision of site Procurement personnel. Establish departmental objectives and standards of performance in accordance with defined Supply Chain objectives and nuclear site expectations. Ensure that personnel implement assigned processes in accordance with standardized Supply Chain procedures.
Actively seek and solicit ideas from staff for Entergy Continuous Improvement (ECI). Use ECI techniques to analyze causes, plan and implement improvements, and study effects of changes. Document adverse conditions and performance deficiencies in the Condition Report Program, perform CR dispositions, develop and implement corrective action plans, and verify effectiveness of actions taken.
Serve as Self-Assessment and/or Benchmark Team Lead or Team Member. Provide daily direction to Procurement Engineering to align with supply chain priorities. Provide emergency, back-shift and outage support as required. Support the Emergency Response Organization and activities.
Serve as primary liaison between Supply Chain and interfacing plant departments including Maintenance, Production, Engineering, Operations, Chemistry, and Project Management. Act on behalf of Supply Chain leadership, as required.
Safety/Human Performance : Ensure the Team always puts safety first. Actively promote strong safety behaviors, utilizing key tools such as Close Call /Good Catch in addition to proactive field visits to review standards and behaviors. Monitoring and influencing Suppliers to proactively identify any safety concerns.
Financial Performance : Act as primary liaison for procurement guidance to interfacing plant departments for execution of procurement transactions, contracts, etc. Provide tactical leadership to the station for inventory budget optimization recommendations. Develop and report financial projections and inventory levels and CPPs.
Assured Supply : Support developing sourcing strategies, discovering new suppliers, negotiating prices with vendors, examining existing contracts, and finding ways to reduce procurement costs. Develop and report inventory levels financial projections and CPPs. Accountable for material readiness for Refueling and Forced outages.
Warehouse, Inventory, Logistics : Work with Supervisor, WIL to support Supply Chain WIL key initiatives. Act as liaison to Procurement Engineering to support material readiness.
Process Controls : Ensure procedural adherence to procurement policies. Mentor and coach staff for event free performance. Liaison with site departments to improve equipment reliability through the work management process, Corrective Action Program and other fleet and site programs.
Leadership : Support leadership in the administration of the Supply Chain processes. Day to day supervision of assigned staff. Manage multiple and sometimes conflicting priorities. Manage multi-disciplined groups and function as a team leader for assigned Supply Chain Process/Commodity Team.
Operate as a Fleet : Liaison with site departments to improve equipment reliability through the work management process and other fleet and site programs. Support leveraged spend through strategic and peer group improvement initiatives. Identify diversity spend opportunities, drive vendor performance improvement and fleet procurement process improvements.
Partnership : Accountable for establishing and maintaining healthy and positive stakeholder relationships. This activity includes establishing cross-functional and cross-sector teams with key stakeholders and creating a multi-year demand plans with integrated supply chain solutions.
People Leadership : Accountable for leverage of Supply Chain’s Talent Management Strategy to assure the right Supply Chain talent is recruited, developed, retained, and deployed in line with key business priorities. Mentor and coach staff. This position will lead approximately 4 direct reports and a total headcount.
Culture : At all times the Supervisor, Site Procurement shall operate with the highest ethical standards and in full compliance with internal controls, policies, procedures, regulations, and laws.
Minimum education and experience required of the position
Supply Chain degree or Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Engineering, or related discipline and minimum 3 years of experience in materials/warehousing, purchasing, contracts or project management, with at least 2 of the 3 years’ experience being Nuclear power plant related.
In lieu of degree minimum 7+ years of experience in materials/warehousing, purchasing, contracts or project management is required.

Technical proficiency in this assigned function and specialty. Established communication skills, both oral and written.
