Job Summary/Purpose

Manages the development and execution of regulatory filings before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). Responsible for project management activities and analytical support of FERC legal and policy issues, including integration with internal departments, and external consultants. Ensures FERC strategy and outcomes meet Company objectives. Coordinates and conducts the assessment of internal controls to ensure compliance as required by FERC.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

  1. Interface with numerous departments and business unit management to ensure that FERC efforts align with business strategy, requirements, and management expectations.

  2. Communicate regulatory information to multiple departments and ensure that information is interpreted correctly.

  3. Manage budgets and proper charging of activities related to FERC legal.

  4. Responsible for contributing to the development of regulatory strategy at FERC. Must have in-depth knowledge of applicable regulatory laws, rules, policies, and procedures.

  5. Preparation and delivery of internal and external presentations, scorecards, and related documents.

  6. Support legal filings, testimony and discovery processes by managing consistent and accurate messaging across multiple business units.

  7. Ability to interpret and communicate data analysis results. Requires strong problem solving capability and critical thinking.

  8. Review all FERC submission materials to ensure timeliness, accuracy, comprehensiveness, and compliance with regulatory standards. Maintain compliance with case procedural schedules. . The ability to manage multiple cases and projects simultaneously in an effective manner is essential.

  9. Manage Company’s FERC eTariff database and responsible for version control for all FERC tariffs, rate schedules and service agreements.

  10. Manage Company’s FERC market-based rate database consistent with FERC’s Order 860 requirements.

Minimum Requirements

Minimum education required of the position

Typically requires a college or university degree in related field or the equivalent work experience. Experience and understanding of ISO/RTO markets and processes.

Minimum experience required of the position

5+ years' experience working on legal or regulatory matters, either public or private

Desired: 2+ years' experience on FERC or RTO/ISO matters

Desired: 2+ years regulatory or legal Project Management experience

Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required of the position

Project management experience. Excellent verbal and written skills. Ability to express oneself in one-on-one and in group settings. Proficiency in analytical technical tools: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project Management.
