JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE

Leads and manages group responsible for negotiating, implementing, and managing power purchase agreements, acquisitions, co-owner arrangements and other energy related products. Responsible for ensuring contracts are appropriately managed to ensure full recovery and benefits to all Entergy Stakeholders. Provides commercial support/high level expertise to senior management, compliance, regulatory staff as well as serves in lead role in interaction with MISO, FERC and state regulators. Maintain market contacts and relationships to maintain energy product and market knowledge.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead group responsible for commercial negotiations with counter-parties for long-term (greater than one year) power agreements, including : power plant acquisitions, physical and financial power purchase agreements, contract amendments, and contract renewals.

Direct RFPs and supply procurement activities for resources that have a lifespan of greater than one year. Responsible for a team of professionals and managers who negotiate and administer long-term power contracts.

Has the overall responsibility for a team of professionals and managers who focus on the development and execution of asset optimization strategies that further Entergy's plan for growth and operational expansion. Works with a team of professionals and managers to develop and execute optimization and risk management strategies.

Serves as the lead witness on commercial transactions in all applicable regulatory hearings and helps Entergy manage its exposure in regulatory hearings. Provide oversight of co-owner transactions and associated management committees.

Serve as a liaison between key counterparties and internal Entergy business units. Leads and works with internal teams to manage accounting issues, price structures, contract terms, and other risks. Oversees team members performing a similar role with other counterparties. The liaison role can also includes leading ongoing co-owner management. Develop and maintain internal and external customer relationships in support of this function.

Promptly address requests by developing and then presenting solution-based options to upper management and key internal clients. Manage the necessary analysis and risk assessment to develop the solution-based options which often requires cross-functional input. Develop, recommend and implement strategy and process improvements. Provide viability assessments for development projects and manage the assessment of projects under review that are in commercial operations group.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Minimum education required of the position

Typically requires a college or university degree in related field or the equivalent work experience. Advanced degree preferred.

Minimum experience required of the position

10+ years

Desired experience: experience managing in a regulated environment; experience participating in regulatory proceeding or filings (experience in serving as a witness in a regulatory proceeding); experience managing large projects implementation; experience with commercial transaction negotiations

Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required of the position

Industry knowledge (regulated/non-regulated). Technical expertise preferred (including high-level understanding of plant and transmission operations, long and short term planning strategies for various OpCos and the Corporation)
