Specifically seeking a Mechanical Engineer who possesses extensive experience with heat recovery steam generators in power plants

Job Summary/Purpose:

Provide engineering services and technical oversight for Heat Recovery Steam Generator (HRSG) maintenance and operations across a fleet of combined cycle gas turbine (CCGT) power plants to insure safe, efficient, and reliable operation. Develops and implements programs, standards, procedures and processes to establish and maintain a comprehensive maintenance program.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Provide an “expert” level of consultation and complex problem solving associated with a wide variety of HRSGs and combined cycle power plant BOP equipment

  • Responsible for detailed application understanding and selection of appropriate system solutions

  • Apply applicable codes (ASME Section I, NBIC, ASME B31.1, & ASME B16.34, etc.)

  • Read and develop both P&ID, piping layouts and perform risk analysis

  • Develop standard maintenance plan templets including generic scope, schedules, bid specifications, and QA/QC measures

  • Develop detail work scope, specifications, and cost estimates for component replacement projects

  • Support Stage Gate implementation

  • Project/Outage support and experience for major outages and large projects

  • Analyzes products and performance requirements to determine appropriate system solution designs

  • Mentor plant engineers in problem resolutions

  • Support root cause analysis and implement lessons learned into maintenance plans

  • Maintains an awareness of industry research and practical application to drive continuous improvement

Minimum Requirements:

Minimum education required of the position

  • B.S. Degree in Engineering

  • Desired: B.S in Mechanical Engineering

Minimum experience

  • Engineer III: at least 4-6 years of applicable and progressive experience

  • Sr. Engineer: at least 6 years of applicable and progressive experience

  • Sr Lead Engineer: at least 8 years of applicable and progressive experience

Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position

  • Extensive knowledge of power plant operating and maintenance practices and equipment maintenance strategies

  • Proven analytical and problem solving skills.

  • Familiar with combined cycle power plant valve, piping, steam generation applications and BOP plant designs and their interactions

  • Has solved critical power plant related problems.

  • Must have basic knowledge in principles of thermodynamics, fluids, statics and dynamics.

  • Preferred extensive comprehension of manufacturing detail drawings.

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.

  • History of strong accountability for results.

Working conditions
